Default Strange ctrl-z behavior

Hi there,

I'm on Ubuntu 20.04 using the latest Reaper (linux)version. Had no problems since installing until today. After loading the project I'm working on I noticed the (drum)midi file was misaligned on it's track. I re-imported it, thinking it was some mistake after last saving it, but now it seems there are more strange behaviors, specifically when using the undo function. Pressing ctrl-z after, say, moving an audio clip, results in all the audio clips on that track to be misaligned (relative to the grid lines that is) in the same way the midiclip did. They move up about a half bar to the left and are trimmed.

Any idea's? Is there any logging I can look into?
Cheers

I couldn't duplicate it on Xubuntu 18.04. I've seen a similar effect before, but it was always my fault for having clips selected that I didn't know were selected.

Thx, yeah no, it has nothing to do with selected clips in my case. Could a bad plugin cause this behavior? I have EZdrummer(linvst) running on a midi track, and tonelib gfx on some audio tracks. Trouble started shortly after installing the latter but not immediatly after, and since it's a native linux plugin I figured that maybe I could rule out tonelib as source of the problem.

I've got the same problems.

In addition I have problems when I open a project. Suddenly the volume fader is down of some tracks and some takes are misaligned. For me it seems that ToneLib Gfx is causing this problems. If I remove the ToneLib plugin from my project everything seems to work fine. I hope there will be a solution because I like the ToneLib plug in a lot.

I'm using Reaper 6.13 and ToneLib Gfx 4.4.0 (LinuxVST) on Manjaro Linux 20.0.3

To both of you having this issue: are you using a different locale than English? If so, see this post:

I've seen this being mentioned several times, and each time it's had some weird behavior (and not necessarily consistent from one person's computer to another).

I forgot to mention the slider down issue, I have it too. But you're right, removing ToneLib GFX does indeed solve the problem. I'll try JamesPeter's solution later today.

I changed my locale from de_DE.UTF-8 to en_US.UTF-8 and after a quick test everything seems to work fine. Thank's a lot for your help!

That's good news! It seems that particular thing can cause a number of odd behaviors in Reaper.

My localectl renders:

System Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8
LC_NUMERIC=de_BE.UTF-8
LC_TIME=de_BE.UTF-8
LC_MONETARY=de_BE.UTF-8
LC_PAPER=de_BE.UTF-8
LC_NAME=de_BE.UTF-8
LC_ADDRESS=de_BE.UTF-8
LC_TELEPHONE=de_BE.UTF-8
LC_MEASUREMENT=de_BE.UTF-8
LC_IDENTIFICATION=de_BE.UTF-8
VC Keymap: n/a
X11 Layout: be
X11 Model: pc105

Still the problem persists. Perhaps I should change all of them to en_us?

I'd at least try changing the LC_NUMERIC, since it would be used by various aspects of Reaper and the plugins.
