That can depend on what theme you are using to begin with and which theme you are taking the separator track from.

Unzip the theme, then find the rtconfig file. Locate the layout for Separator. Now open the other theme, locate the rtconfig file and copy and paste the layout info from the first rtconfig file over to the second one.
Now find the folder with the png files for the separator and copy them over as well. Rezip the theme and try it out. It may or may not work or look as expected. Sometimes copying images and layouts from one theme to another take a lot of tweaking.

I'm trying to copy Separator layouts from "LCS_reFraction" to Albert's "PRO X-TOOLS GOLD ED v3.2.1 OSX (DARK)"
failed everytime ... don't know where did i do wrong,
I'm sure I did exact the same as ur steps above. :/
after tweaking it I got a horrible theme modded by me ...(sad)
I assumed this is not what I want..

Unzip the theme, copy the layout to config file. Then zip the folder and theme file together again. I have copiedseparator tracks this way to many themes.

todoublez you have broken the theme's file connections; what you're seeing there is what Reaper actually looks like with its clothes off Rather than going through why, I would suggest it would be easier to start again, following the instructions in this sticky for how to unpack a theme.

There is no reason whatsoever to zip a theme except as a more convenient way to share it.

the separator track doesnt looks normal like it shows in reFraction theme.
for example the fonts direction and size were wrong.
also thrr's one more problem,
I didnt see the separator layout to select in tcp,
I'm pretty sure I've copy the code into the theme...

couple of things:
1. The font used will be the one used by this theme for the track labels.
This can be changed in the Theme Tweaker, but it will likely affect all the other layouts.
2. The TCP separator layout code is probably has errors.
2. Did you nest either of the separators in another layout?

Are these the reFraction layouts you used?
Code:
Layout "Separator Folder" "Separator/folder"
clear tcp.*
set tcp.size [311 90 232]
front tcp.mute tcp.solo tcp.recarm
set tcp.folder [3 1 20 20]
set tcp.label [37 73 230 16 0 1 1 1]
set tcp.label.color ?recarm [254 174 174] [194 204 204]
set tcp.label.margin [0 1 1 3 0.5]
set tcp.label.font [1]
set tcp.foldercomp [290 1 20 20 1 0 1 0]
set tcp.mute [240 3 20 20 1 0 1 0]
set tcp.solo + tcp.mute [20]
set tcp.recarm ?recarm [225 4 15 14 1 0 1 0] [0]
EndLayout
Layout "Separator Folder wide" "Separator/folder"
clear mcp.*
set mcp.size [46 392]
front mcp.mute mcp.recarm
set mcp.label [29 38 17 319 0 0 0 1]
set mcp.label.margin [1 4 0 4 0.5 0.5]
set mcp.label.color ?recarm [254 174 174] [174 184 184]
set mcp.label.font [1]
set mcp.extmixer.mode [1]
set mcp.extmixer.position [0]
set mcp.folder [14 4 20 20]
set mcp.mute [14 364 14 13 0 1 0 1]
set mcp.solo [15 377 14 14 0 1 0 1]
set mcp.recarm ?recarm [14 370 15 14 0 1 0 1] [637 0]
EndLayout
If yes, let me know what changes you have made.
The track label is made to stretch all the way down the layout, so I don't why it's not doing that unless you altered the layout size or the mcp.label size.
The mute, solo and folder buttons will need to be re-sized and repositioned in order to use the new theme's images for them.
Otherwise, you will need to copy all the reFraction images from the main Separator subfolder to the Separator subfolder in the new theme.
Remember to copy the BG and BGSEL files from the reFraction " Separator/Folder" afterwards.

A few weeks back I copied a transport layout from Hydra by Blankfiles into Albert's Pro Tools theme. I ended up having to do major surgery with all of the png files to get it to look right. As for the separator, he didn't have one for the TCP layout in his newer theme so I used it from his first Pro Tools theme. Not sure if that helps, but it ain't easy copying elements fro different themes sometimes.

I love it ! the compact button look quite ODD I would say...

- Can I make the folder Separator in TCP & MCP more thicker to fit the track name by changing the code? or do I have to re-edit the png file ?

You can just click on them to make them disappear.
if really want to totally remove them, then deleted the entries for them in the Separator layout like this:
Code:
Layout "Separator Folder" "Separator/folder"
clear tcp.*
set tcp.size [311 90 232]
front tcp.recarm
set tcp.folder [3 1 20 20]

set tcp.recarm ?recarm [225 4 15 14 1 0 1 0] [0]

sorry, missed this earlier.
Unfortunately, this is will need be an image edit.
When you edit the image you will need to make sure the folder tab remains inside the boundaries set by the pink lines in the image.
so they will need to be adjusted as well.
Please note that the 'tab' for the MCP is part of the separator's BG image.
The 'tab' in the TCP is actually the name or label image.

Use the attached file and try this code for the tcp.namebg
Code:
set tcp.label [37 70 230 18 0 1 1 1]

I saw thrr's a track title fonts option to configure.
But I assume it can only change the font size globaley whcih effects the whole themes track fonts?
is it possible to change the fonts just for a specific layout like "Separator folder" in this case?
|
yes and yes.
from the WALTER SDK:
tcp.pan.label.font: Pan readout text font (first coordinate is font index, 1-8 user, 0=main, -1 = volpan)
In the Theme Tweaker, find a WALTER font that's not being used.
use that number for the setting, as in this example:
Code:
set tcp.label.font [7]
If the code is already there, you just need to change the number

I really think this is a good and straight forward feature,
it can let users to distinguish track's signal routing without opening the routing window in MCP.

click on the Menu button on the Master MCP track.
select " Show send when size permits"
sends will now show under the FX list.

they look great
one last buggy thing I'm tending to tweak is the Alignment
I want it (Separator)align to perfect center.
cuz it looks a bit poked out (on left).
also I tried this code below by simply copy and paste
Code:
set tcp.margin +:maxfolderdepth:1 [12]
set tcp.margin +:folderdepth:1 [-12]
and I got this result , I believe I must done something wrong:
before changing the code :
and the original code is :
Code:
set tcp.size [304 73 297]
tcp_folderindent 22
set tcp.margin +:maxfolderdepth:1 [0 0 0 0] -- this is where I replaced the code above.
set tcp.margin +:folderdepth:1 [0 0 0 0]-- this is where I replaced the code above.
set reverse_margin * [-1] tcp.margin
set tcp.foldercomp [2 2 19 16 0 0 0 0]
set tcp.folder h>30 [-1 -1 24 74 0 0 0 1]

try matching it with the code from the layout below it.
if the above is the code, then play with the numbers currently showing as 12 and -12, as well as the actual depth numbers currently showing as 1.
Mess with the 12 only first, then mess with 1's only until you get a feel for what they do.

OMG its the return of reverse_margin, truly my most evil creation. Please read this which is my best effort explaining why folder indenting is so much easier than so many themes make it when they recycle the same old def4 old code.
If you're intersted in the background of this, I invite you to read A brief history of reverse_margin bollocks

was looking at old code and totally forgot about that
@ todoublez
I dropped the separator code into Albert's public edition of PRO X-TOOLS GOLD ED.
I'm not seeing the issue in that version.
It seems to line up fine without any tweaking except for the folder/mute/solo buttons.
It looks like you're using the later private editions.
I don't have access to those, so I'm not sure I can help any further with troubleshooting.
You will need to put some time to learn WALTER and play with the code.
I usually have a safety layout as a backup so I can refer back the original layout settings if something goes wrong.

Lucus,
After setting the fonts I preferred for the Separator, I hit save,
and it generates a ReaperTheme document not a regular ReaperThemeZip file.
I opened it with sublime text I got some codes
Code:
[REAPER]
lb_font=0D000000000000000000000000000000900100000000000003020122417269616C00000072726F770078740064000000000000000000000000000000C9

the Separator font use Walter01,
so I assumed its related code above is
"user_font1=40000000000000000000000000000000900100 0000000000030201222E5346204E5320546578740069626F6C 6400000000000000000000000000000050"
?
if so, is it possible to copy this code into the rtconfig.txt file so I can have the Separator with the font I want without having a ReaperTheme document in the color theme folder ??
my font for Separator is :
Copperpiate / typeface: Bold / size : 18
is it possible to make the Separator track not to shown in dimmed color when the track is locked ?

correct
that is the main theme file.
If you look in a .ReaperThemeZip file you'll see it's actually a .Zip file with 2 items in it
Custom.ReaperTheme (actual theme file)
Custom folder (folder with the image files for the theme)
When you hit save you create only the Custom.ReaperTheme which is still using the original image folder.
It's best at this point to make a copy of the original image folder and rename it to match the custom theme.
You'll need to set the theme to now use the custom image folder.
change the following line in the new theme to match the new image folder name:
You can just use the theme and folder this way, the .ReaperThemeZip format is only needed for ease of sharing the theme with others.

The code in WALTER is just
set tcp.label.font [1]
or whatever font number you want to use.
unless you want the font to be different than the MCP label font, it's probably best at this point to just set the font through the tweaker.

you have to change the setting for the color in the theme tweaker.
look for Locked track control panel color and/or the Locked track control panel fill mode
EDIT:
I just checked, change the Locked track control panel fill mode Alpha number to zero and it gets rid of the dimming.

Just figured out this can't be applied to specific track I want.
its a global change
I was planing to make some icon for Separator in locked/unlock mode.
seems its not possible at all
