A puzzling rendering problem
Hello. I've had no problems with rendering in the past, but now in two projects a fade-in has come at the beginning of the file, and I can't figure out why. I've checked all the preferences and rendering options, but nothing seems to explain the fade-in. I updated the version to the newest, but it didn't help. I tried rendering the whole project, and time selection - at both options, a few seconds of silence and a fade-in. Has anyone experienced the same, and do you know what could cause this?

Does it happen with a brand-new 'virgin' project? Hidden, forgotten volume envelopes do this sort of thing.

Try rendering the tracks as stems and see how they come out.

It seems it happens with every project now.

I did, and there was still a fade-in.

But no it doesn't. I tried with two projects, and in the first one came a fade-in (it was totally random project from the past), and to the second one it didn't. I first noticed this with a project that has two guitar tracks and a vocal track. When I muted the vocal track, the fade-in appeared. Now that I tried the same project with the vocals muted and not, the one with not muted started with vocals with no fade-in, and the two guitar tracks came in later with a fade-in. This is getting mysterious! How can I check if there are some hidden envelopes? I don't normally use envelopes.

It seems it was Guitar Rig that caused the fade-ins. I have both Guitar Rig 3 and 5 installed (3 for the projects from previous computer), and there's some problem specifically with 3. I'm using an USB mixer, and my friend suspected this has something to do with it having "buffers 8 x 1024 samples" (and therefore a very high latency). I don't really understand those setups, and are they somehow connected to the Guitar Rig problem, but I do understand, that the latency shouldn't be that high.
