Default In-Track MIDI routing?

It seems like the track routing is missing midi in and out....

I'd like to route midi independently to different FX within my track. But there is no I/O button for midi-only fx, AFAICT.

Seems like the plug-in pin connector could use another page for midi?

Now I don't understand the midi busses, but it seems like they are global, correct? So any routing done here would interfere with routing on other tracks?

So, not sure what I might be missing.... Is this possible?

Code:
                 --> MIDI FILTER 1 --> VST1
TRACK MIDI IN-->
                 --> MIDI FILTER 2 --> VST2
And if I copy this track, there is no need to go in and re-assign midi busses for the second track...

Thanks!!!

Check out some of the videos on setting up Reaper and a multitimbral instrument like Omnisphere. Those work by having a single MIDI track used to trigger different instruments within the VST via different MIDI channels. You could potentially repurpose the idea to something that fitted what you're trying to do.

I found this one useful:
