Where are you located? Shipping I think will dictate what
you can work out. I do have a very decent 19" LCD monitor that I'd
be happy to trade for something - but it's not worth much
(new 24" LED monitors can be had for under $200 everywhere)
and I'm afraid shipping would be more than the monitor is
worth, plus the hassle of boxing a monitor for safe travel.

But if you're anywhere near Seattle, I'd be happy to just
give it to you if you can come over and pick it up. Long shot
I realize... but thought I'd offer it up anyway.

There ya go snatchman... sounds like you can hook up with
a local. I'd hate for you to pay the shipping on this LCD.
That money would go a long way to a decent used monitor
more local to you or other gear.

Glad it looks like you're going to find a local.

Wow, didn't realize there were other NC Reaperites, where are you guys? If I have a 20" Dell (least I think it's 20) you can have if you wanna come get it because I'm too lazy to ship it. Nothing wrong with it, I just upgraded my wife's to something else for her birthday. It's 3 years old I think. Im in CLT.

Just guessing? $25-$35 from the UPS Store. Retail UPS rates have
soared with gas prices.

So Snatch: Hit the second hand stores in your area!!!

Decent LCD monitors are out there for practically NOTHING.
The shipping cost to find "one for trade" is probably more
than you'll pay at St. Vincent or Salvation Army or your
local PC recycle shop. Such monitors are DIRT CHEAP around
Seattle. Older decent LCD's are being dumped by the millions.
They are out there for cheap in EVERY CITY.

Me thinks your "feet on the street" efforts are not being
used - you want a "mouse click solution".

I don't have money issues whatsoever - mice do the job for me
for whatever I might want. Trust me.

But I don't think you've given it the "sweat equity" of hitting
the shops in your area for a deal.

Hard truth.

Hi again Snatchman.... I do have some interesting news. I
actually thought about your dilemma today... while driving
around with my son, we stopped at a "computer recycler" store
that I've always been curious about.

They had small (17") LCD monitors starting at TWENTY BUX!! And they
were all up and running and looked good. 19" for like $30
typically... 21" for $75

So Google "computer recycler" or similar terms in your area.
I'm sure this is common everywhere in the US.

Good luck in your quest.
