Default Macbook Pro settings for speakers and headphones playing automatically

I wonder how to set the audio device in Reaper so that it includes both laptop speakers and headphones and when I connect headphones, they would start playing automatically (and no speakers). So far speakers play under "default audio devices" and for headphones I have to change audio device to "external headphones" that is quite uncomfortable.

For example in Final Cut Pro this works automatically (headphones/speakers)

You can make an aggregate device from the speakers and the headphones, and choose that new device in the audio device setting in reaper.

Yes, but it does not solve the basic thing - that Reaper should automatically know if headphones are connected or not and you have to set / switch it every time

Does it now automatically adjust to the situation when you use or don't use headphones so that is always plays without the necessity to change the audio device manually in the settings ? (default vs. external headphones)
