Waves Nx and head tracker is on sale for $60 dollars. Worth it? :)
Hi all!
This seems like an insane deal I should take but not a fan that they only support 1st order. Does anyone know if you can get the data from the head tracker part and use it for controlling other plugins? https://www.waves.com/hardware/nx-vi...x-head-tracker I imagine not so stuck with 1st order but at this price might still be worth doing. I might try the demo and seeing if the tracking values are exposed as vst parameters as then they can be linked at least lol If not this head tracker.. any suggestions on one that is really good, exposes parameters (as OSC or Midi) and doesn't cost the earth? Thanks!

The software seems somehow abandoned, but it's maybe a well done piece of hardware.
Is anyone into reverse engineering? :-) There are (DSP based) head tracking Ambisonics headphones from the manufacturer Audeze, called Mobius: https://www.audeze.com/products/mobius They sell it also with Waves NX for Ambisonics monitoring. I asked if HOA is supporte and got a response from the Audeze support: only 1st order - he said, they work on a firmware upgrade, to support higher orders... |

Cool. I bought it anyway but be aware, waves are charging insane delivery costs for UK.
Still, I tried the demo and was surprised by translation to binaural even without headtracking. I'll check others out too and report back as definitely want one that is open to controlling other effects too.

I actually have TrackIR and also lighthouse vr headset so one of those might have an API that someone could hack into.
Just had to pay 27 pound import duty on the wave NX along with 60 dollar shipping. insane!

Check and see if you can parameter link from the yaw, pitch and tilt controls of Nx to the head tracking of another (say 3rd order?) binaural decoder. I'm curious if this workaround might open up the possibilities of this device.

I've got a feeling we can't as the actual headtracking software is separate it seems.
I'll check though once it arrives if there's a sneaky way to do it. The other way maybe is to get my track ir and see if it can send out joystick movements and then use reaper's joystick to midi conversion thingy. Might only be 7bit though so not really ideal
