Default a2jmidid crashing qjackctl

I had to use this to make my MIDI controler work with jack

a2jmidid [-j jack-server] [e | --export-hw]

it works, but crashes qjackctl

any ideas?

EDIT: if i run the command in the terminal after I launch qjackctl it doesn't crash, but it does when I put it as a script in the options in qjackctl (execute script after jack starts)

I always use the following in the qjackctl options:
after startup: "a2jmidid -e -u &"
after shutdown: "killall a2jmidi &"
Works without problems.
