I can't pick the "one" best, but I can easily mention what I use *alot*:
-Reaper's compressor and eq
-Valhalla Room (best vst verb I've heard so far...)
-Ferric (bootsy)
-Ozone (can't recall which version I have) but it gets itself into every mix somewhere.
Boy, what a great time to be alive and making music!

Picking one is too hard. I'll reluctantly say:
Free: NaastyDLA. This is probably my favorite effect plugin, ever.
Cheap: BFD Eco. If you like tweaked out drums, this plugin is a lot of fun.

The plug-in I am looking for......
is one which I put on the first track of any project and it goes online at the Reaper Forum and searches out interesting posts.
It then posts and carries on a conversation, whilst I am busy making music.

As long as it occasionally says "straw man", "no true Scotsman", "I haven't read this thread from the beginning, but...", and "you're obviously missing my point", it should work pretty well in the lounge.

The real Fex actually is making music right now, and what you are reading is merely a virtual representation of him, written in AIML. It works more or less adequately most of the time, but does have an unfortunate tendency to talk out of it's arseeeeeegggggjmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

I have WizooVerb and love it. After the support was dropped, I waited for something that I would like as much, and then Valhalla Room was released. That is one very nice plug as well! One of the presets that comes with Valhalla Room is my offering of a WizooVerb sound I used a lot for buss vocals.

Hey Dannii, that's the same exact model I have. Unfortunately it stopped working.
At first it just got to where it wouldn't play once in a while. It kept getting worse as time went along and then stopped altogether. I have a feeling it might have something to do with a little switch inside that works when you open and close the door but that's just a hunch.
Have you had any problems like that?
I've got lots of old DATs I would like to get on disc.

ALL YOUR PLUGS ARE BELONG TO US!!!
SIR with L96 and lex 480 IRs
TB easy compressor
ReaFir for noise reduction
i cannot find an EQ i like, and i have tried a s$&%load of them.
every other plug i have tried, including every limiter, tape saturation, stereo widener, etc, all seem to add distortion and/or artifacts to my mixes - i try to keep everything as close to the original tracks as possible. its like the more i try to fix anything, the more f$&%ed up it gets.

Recently and currently my favorite plugin would be Sidizer (vsti).
Seems I'm not getting tired of it _at all_.

I have to second Wizooverb, it is a great reverb, I still have the stereo version on the system great for sorting out tails in mastering, very flexible and great sounding.

I mentioned WizooVerb W2 earlier in this thread and that I couldn't find a replacement that sounded as good. I think I did now: 2CAudio Breeze. I don't have time to experiment with the actual product right now but the Samples sound amazing, better than any other reverb that I've heard. Some of the samples give me goosebumps!
http://www.2caudio.com/products/breeze/
For some reason Aether doesn't sound as good to my ears, going on the samples only of course.
