Default Mastering Engineers...

What are current leveling practises of professional releases(for broadcast) vs "masterd for the internets" or relative to anologue (the good ole days)

Anouther way to ask the same question..
What kind of headroom_dyn range would you like to receive from clients?
does every Mixer "master" their own mixes now? Every song have 6db of active range?

read the link. How are you going to hit your Loudness target if you don't even have a meter?

it's 2014, all the hep cats are measuring their Loudness.

Default Right...

You need a meter to determine your loudness.

Broadcasters in these parts call for -24 RMS and -10peak for Television deliverables in Stereo...deviate from there and they reject mixes. If you have digital radio where you are, chances are it's pretty close to that as well.

as far as a target, shoot for EBU-R128 or ATSC-A/85, depending on which side of the pond you're on. and the ITU BS.1770 parameters are the ones to go by.

Once you have that established, THEN go for K-Metering.

We all have to get on board with this (it's a good thing, trust me), especially as we move forward into 4k TV with an audio capability of 22.2 channels...full 5.1 isn't that far off, end to end, everybody...be prepared!!! LtRt fold-downs are gonna go away...

Please spell it out clear for me?
So if I want to get my music played on Radio do I need to run a -24 RMS disc off and send them that before they consider playing it?

Cheers
