Default Hiss from amp in recording

I have final guitars recorded but since there was high gain it created a lot of hiss that came from in the recording (the guitar tone is fine)

What plugin can I use to reduce this? Preferably a simple and free one as I want it to be a quick job to get onto the next stage

Tried both. Refir gives a horrible electronic sound in it and doesn't completely remove the hiss. The gate makes things too jumpy imo.

I've fixed the problem though

SpectraLayers 9 has a free 30 day trial. If you have a bit of the audio with just the hiss, you can use SpectraLayers 9 to generate a noise profile, and then remove the hiss from the wav. I've used this feature (I'm still on SpectraLayers 4) to great success.

You might try Reapers Spectrum editing for manually do very controlled modifications.

That's weird. The last time I tried ReaFir I was amazed at how well it removed noise from my distorted guitar recording.

I've used this to remove the sound of my forearm rubbing on the body of my acoustic guitar when I was playing a part with lots of touch harmonics that were very quiet. It took a lot of trial and error but worked really well. There's a Kenny video that explains it superbly.
