Default Unintended MIDI CC data. Reaper problem?

HI,

I've been finding unintended MIDI CC being recorded to lanes that I've never intended.
I only found out when my midi tune started to sound a bit "wonky".

Anyone else experienced this?
I'm hesitant to think it's a "Reaper issue", but perhaps it might be.

Meanwhile, I'm "freezing" those tracks, after weeding out the unintended CC info.

***Pressing "F" w/editor open, give me a "MIDI filter", seems to be the solution, going forward.

Would still like to hear from others.

Only experienced this when I was using a midi controller with a faulty fader, was flicking out all sorts of stuff on a certain cc I can't remember that was unrelated, think I diagnosed it with MIDIOX or something of the sort then used the midi filter for a while until I was able to disable it in its native software.

Aside from that, not had reaper do that on me on its own.

Right.
Should've been more specific, from the start.

It's not when I use hardware, at all.
I'm using a laptop w/an external HD.
No controllers.

The random CC's occur on "Program" a lot.
That's one I've noticed, several times, on various tracks.

Just loaded a very short and simple track that had extra MIDI info on:
00 Bank Select MSB
32 Bank Select LSB
00/32 Bank Select 14-bit.

Note: I'd -only- tweaked the velocity of some notes, on this MIDI track.
No processing at all; no FX on the track.

The only thing I might've used on these tracks, is Reaticulate.
Periodically, I'd freeze and unfreeze a track, for what that's worth.

As for "When" I can't really pinpoint that. Several days ago, I listened to a song that seemed to sound kind of "wonky"...like there was an occasi0onal warp in the record album.
I checked everything, to see what could cause it...and several MIDI tracks had somehow managed to get a few unintended MIDI CC lanes of info that just threw everything out of whack. "Program" was frequent one, as I'd said.
So, I went through and deleted the superfluous stuff, and then "froze" the track to keep that from happening again.

Oh...also, I noticed that Reaticulate would no longer be assigned to a track, as it was supposed to.
The "bank/program select" lane still showed where the articulations were, but their names were changed to a numbers, like "113-456" or something like that.
So, I had to re-do the articulations for a few tracks.

I don't know if these are all related, but hoping to get this fixed as it causes me a lot of extra work.

Peace,

Keith
