Default Mac Minimum Requirements

My 2011 Macbook died. I used it for Reaper (multitrack audio only) and Chrome. Nothing else. It had 8 gb RAM, i7 quadcore 2.2gHz, Focusrite Scarlett 6i6 2nd generation. I'm going to buy a refurbished, due to $$. What do I actually need? Does the processor speed really matter?

With that small audio interface, every Mac can handle this.
You may have to buy a new battery, check for availability of new battery before buy.
And you may also exchange the internal harddrive with a new SSD if this is not already done.

Look if the display is working correctly and if the power supply is in good shape at the plug.

The newer the better.
The MacBookAir M1 has no more internal fans, it is silent and the heat dissipation is very low.
Your old MacBook 2011 was probably like an oven when on the legs.
