Default inacessible Audio Device breaks Reaper

Hi friends,

here's a bug I'm able to reproduce countless times, in latest Reaper on MacOS:

if there is an audio device which becomes temporarily inaccessible (for various reasons),
even after restarts where Reaper takes VERY long to load, its Preferences load VERY long, it still freezes and cannot be changed (despite audio device being fully functional at that point already),

only possible solution is to manually edit Reaper.ini file row coreaudioindevnew and coreaudiooutdevnew - type something like default, and on next Reaper launch it loads quickly with info on device error to change, only in this occasion Reaper actually lets us change Audio Device successfully,

tested with RME UFX, UFXII and UCXII (all are external USB interfaces)

Worth checking: Is the mic enabled?

of course, it's all fully functional,

problem is, if Reaper crashes due to some audio interface error (which is not a problem of Reaper), it fails to function properly again despite having audio interface available on next run
