Default Best procedure for copying setting from one project to another?

I'm working on a 4 song project and want to duplicate all settings from the first song in the others. Best how to?

save all the tracks in the tcp/mixer as a track pre set,open a new project with the track pre set then drag your audio files into the new project on the corresponding tracks.

or more specifically, highlight all of the tracks...then go to Track on the menu bar, and in the pulldown, choose Save Selected tracks as track template......

It will save the effects, pan, volume settings...everything

Then when you start a new project, use the Add New track from template....

Walla....

Well, there is an easier way IMO. Do all four songs in the same project, then do a save as for each song, trimming away the unneeded audio data. Reaper seems to "know" this has been done and then it's not necessary to move all the audio to the beginning.
