Undisputed GOAT for Mixing
These are small features that will save a lot of time in the long run and in my opinion will make reaper hands down the best Daw for mixing (It's almost there)
I know there are workarounds for everything I've listed below but all of them are flow killers or are heavy on the processing side
Post Fader inserts - Really good for creative Applications and airwindows console
Multi Mono Fx (like in protools) - Right now I need to use 2 plugins and change the pin connections and set them up separately, can't link the left and right side
Linking Fx across multiple tracks - I know there are some scripts but they are unreliable when mixing big projects because sometimes they don't work or change parameters of unlinked plugins. I'm looking for a more robust way
Fixed Fx slots - Helps a lot in organizing and dedicating slots across all tracks for specific plugins
Ex - All tape machines in slot 8
Track selections affects fx bypass, offline, sends Etc - When selecting multiple tracks there's no way to bypass a specific plugin across them
It's a great feature when testing a fx process across multiple tracks
Ex - When i select track 1-5 and bypass fx slot 1 then that fx slot should be bypassed for all the selected tracks,
I know you can bypass in Fxbay but it will bypass that specific plugin across the whole project not on just the selected tracks
Sends window - Should not close when selecting something else so we can make changes to it while also changing parameters of the plugin it's sending to, It's a little annoying when it auto closes everytime
Edits -
Copy pasting Fx setting from one instance to another would also be a great addition
Having notes window (like the icon box above tracks) on tracks that can be saved as track template
ex - whenever I load a track template I have the tips and recommended setting already written.
I'm not trying to be greedy lol, these are just some things that i believe will make life a lot easier for everyone who's full time mixing in reaper
I'm not sure how hard these changes can be but i hope someday it'll be there
I'm already pretty satisfied with reaper and it has become my main daw for mixing
Thanks to the Devs for making this amazing daw <3
