Default REAPER and V CONTROL PRO from Neyrinck

Hello,
I use Reaper and ProTools in post-production facility for movie and VR projects.
Reaper has great features but lack a serious controller, as the ProControl I use with ProTools. Last year, Neyrinck added the possibility to use deprecated surface control from Avid to work with ProTools through V control app.
They decoded the ethernet protocol used by avid in procontrol and Control24 and were able to translate it to HUI protocol, allowing the use with Protools 64 bit of these controllers. The result is a very useable interface, with not all feature of the original protocol, but really cool to mix.
After that, they do the same for Nuendo, LogicPro etc... BUT NOT FOR REAPER!!!
Recently, Neyrinck launch, on their facebook page, a survey to know on what DAW is the interest to add PRocontrol as interface.
It will be fantastic to have it with Reaper, but vote for Reaper are low. Should every body interested go thee and vote for Reaper?
And for the Cockos team, Neyrinck seems interested in getting in touch with you to see what to do. Can you enter in contact with them? It shouldn't be that difficult to do the config file, with your awesome skill in coding and the versatility of Reaper?
Having the possibility to use Reaper with ProControl or Control24 or C24 will be a giant step forward for many users of Reaper!

Welcome to the Reaper forums !

The "CSI" Reaper extension should be able to attach virtually any Control Surface device to Reaper via Midi or OSC, while providing virtually any desired workflow.

As it's still a work in progress there might be some edges to cover, but I understand that there already are a lot of very happy users.

I would say HUI is a bad choice for protocol, support is fading year over year.

A far better way for Midi is to use Mackie Control protocol and present the surface in banks of 8 across a sufficient number of Midi ports.

CSI does not support HUI.

The best way to go is OSC.

It would be great to have ProControl/Control24 to OSC software, that way you could even use WiFi no Midi/USB/network cables.

I agree that a full OSC development for ProControl will be a dream.
But at the moment, V CONTROL PRO offer a very good experience for ProControl in diverse DAW except Reaper and Neyrinck, who develop V CONTROL PRO, is looking to open it for more DAW.
So the idea is just to encourage to vote for Reaper in the V control Pro facebook page and incentive the Cockos team to get in contact with Neyrinck.
It does not block other development from other people, it's just one other potential option to add more versability to Reaper.

Better: not "Reaper" but just a decent Midi or OSC protocol. With that, CSI could be configured to make use of it.
