People like spaceecho and others that work for free, this is the key! we should congratulations this users, so.. this is my opinion. The other things could be stop the inspiration of this users. So, if any critics dont wanna make a new theme, bring regards or positive vibrations to the creators of themes.
Thanks for the support. I have tried to be as transparent as possible from the very start. I admitted it relied heavily on the look of the other theme. I gave plenty of praise and credit to that theme and it's designer. When posts started to take an accusatory tone it concerned me. If I benefitted in ANY way from doing this then i'd understand. But I won't at all. Outside of some message board karma and an ever-climbing post count I personally don't benefit from posting this at all.

I also really can't see the logic in halting all theme'ing in the "realistic console based" motif because one theme is out there, in the works. The world doesnt work that way. I'm as excited for Imperial as the next guy but I can't be expected to NOT work on a console based theme, if thats what I want to see, until it's released. Thats ridiculous.

This theme looks incredible! I cannot wait.

(and I don’t know what’s going on this thread otherwise, but just do your thing!)

Working on the meter bridge still but here's the mixer so far.

PS. The VCA is obviously not a true VCA fader but coming from consoles I still mix into a bank of 8 faders just for workflow. I removed the FX and pretty much any other function on it so it's a very stripped down fader so I can automate groups through them. So a dumbed down VCA basically.

This is looking pretty tight bro. I dig it.
BUT....the bent knobs are killin' me. Every time I look at it, my eyes instantly snap to them and red flags go off. That's called "too many years doing design work".

Check this out: If you go look at an interface that does use perspective like that - such as Tone 2's plugins (ElectraX comes to mind instantly), the WHOLE interface has been rendered (probably in 3DS MAX or something) so the buttons on the far left show opposite sides as the buttons on the far right. But you can't get away with that here. Especially considering the UI constantly grows with more tracks. I'd loose the perspective altogether. But hey....just my two cents. You're making great progress. Props.

yeah it's a corner I've certainly painted myself into. I've basically just decided to deal with it after I have everything laid out and semi finalized so I know where my sightlines and perspective is going to run. I do agree though, it causes me great anxiety to look at it!

Am I alone in beginning to wish White Tie had either released Imperial or kept it to himself until he was ready to do so?
I have seen more argument and antagonism engendered by that theme than just about anything else on here (apart from He Who I Will Not Name's crap commentary)

I know this was not WT's intention but this is all really starting to get old fast.

I'm not used to analog consoles, but labelling your second TCP button " Gain ", seems not appropriate since it controls the volume " attenuation, and not amplification". Or it might make think that it controls the pre-fx volume, to me... But I agree, it looks cooler to see "Gain", than a common "Vol"
Beautiful theme

Ive been up to my neck in Imperial png files for the last six weeks or so.

I saved the images from the original thread and, like everyone else, shopped them to within an inch of their lives
I now have a very sexy customized version that is just near the finish line.
god only knows how long it took him to create/render the original theme components.

Anyway, my point is that i think WT likes all this WALTER hacking/buffoonery.
He is a graphical kind of guy and i think he enjoys all these newcomers getting their hands dirty with WALTER, shopping all and sundry and then slapping the results on a tcp or whatever

Its mind-numbingly boring and yet addictive at the same time. I can't explain it.

Cool! From track 1 in that image, it looks like you have your background vertical pink line(s) too long, which is stopping it from being a gradient at such a low height. You should be able to sort that by resizing the background image to fit the smallest height, and redrawing the gradient and pink lines

Also it's possible to write your meter walter line so that after the s, m, i, and r buttons disappear, it switches to vertical centre alignment, which might look better at the small height (depending on what you do with the other visible buttons).

Looks great so far. Really nice job. The only nitpick I have would be the tonelux logo on every single mixer track. I think it would look much more cleaner if you put that logo just on the master track rather than on every single track.

I don't really think someone else's brand logo should be on there at all. But, yes - definitely not on every track

I'd like to see the shades of green in the MCP Match those in the TCP... the MCP just seems a bit drab.. in comparison.

The Tonelux thing was a good idea when this was going to be a theme just for me but there seems to be some interest so I'm going to ditch that. I'm switching it over right now and I'll upload new screens tonight.

Now Im just deciding on keeping the green or going to a more standard brushed steel look.

If the Tonelux was that slight shade of green, I would keep it.
It's a nice subtle change from steels and grays.
It will look really good either way you do it tho :-)

About the Tonelux logo, couldn't just give us the option? (as a layout option).
Having it on every track yes maybe it's too much, but what about having it maybe in the first track, or maybe in the mastertrack, or maybe for busses, or for folders... see where I'm going?
I love the theme, love the knobs (some people will like them, some won't, again,
options would be great). LOVE the GLOW!
Vertical sliders, the first ones to me were great (the more "squarish" ones).
Anyways, if you can make the theme scalable, awesome.
This theme is so neat.
Did I say I love it already?
Great some are giving you ideas or coming to aid.
Ok, hopefully will be ready... "soon"? Lol

Regards.

I hope to have this scalable and include plenty of options. HOPE! The #1 thing messing with this theme has done is make me appreciate the default them that much more. The fact it works for ANY workflow you can throw at it. Right now this thing is a one trick pony tailored to my workflow. If you dock the mixer the entire universe explodes! Working on some layouts that cater to that as we speak.

Thanks for the support man!

I've tried to be as transparent as possible from the start. This is my first foray into creating themes and all the guys who are WAAY better than me at it have been so great so far with help and advice. This seriously is one of the best communities surrounding a product I've ever seen.

Just a thought....
You were going to take off the Tonelux logo except for maybe the master. Instead of using Tonelux.... maybe come up with a cool original name since it is your theme creation based off of Tonelux....
Something like 'Spacelux' ... 'LuxEcho' Come up with a cool logo which would be your own signature for your theme which would fit great on the master panel. Could also be the name of your theme too.
Just a thought :-)

I'm with Lylo. Seriously tho - Thank you for the efforts Space_echo201 - Pity about the hoo-ha.

Great looking theme - We in Reaperland are spoiled and encouraged by our community (and by our themers) - I seriously look forward to making music - with Reaper.

Also like someone said earlier in the thread we want/need more themes.

Great work. Many thanks. J

It was an album by a band named Recover. They were cool.

anyway, I had intended to post a bunch of new screens and have a bunch of stuff tweaked on the theme... but alas, bills must be paid so the pro bono design work took a back seat to the not so pro bono design work. I'll knock out some of the glaring issues this weekend and try to at least get some kind of test version up on the stash in the near future. Thanks for all the support.

This theme looks very cool indeed.
I wish I had the energy to theme.
However I don't so big up to all theme's and people making them.
