Default Drum takes

Sorry if this has been covered but I looked around and didn't find the answer...

So, say there's 8 tracks of drums and you want to do a "punch-in" on a fill. Repeat is on for the time selection and we record the fill a few times... giving us a few takes on each track. Is there an easy way to select spcific takes on all of the tracks without having to select them one at a time in each track? I've looked at track grouping but it doesn't look like it works on takes.

did you try item grouping? select the take sections and press 'G'.. not sure if that will do it but its worth a shot.

Alas, selecting a take by mouse click, so that all grouped/selected items follow doesn't work, I think. I might be wrong and there is an option for that?

But you can use the actions "Take: Set [n]th take active" and all selected items will follow. Item grouping helps of course with the selection.

The "Next take" and "previous take" actions also work on grouped items I believe.

I don't use takes, if the last take wasn't good enough that I want the drummer to try another, I delete the last take and keep trying. You should never be picking the best one out of a bunch of takes and settling, just keep trying until the guy gets it dead on right!
