Built-in MIDI editor not working properly (SOLVED)

When I start a new project and insert a midi file, the file is offline on the timeline and when I try to open the built-in editor it says that no external editor is set.

I've read that someone else has this problem as well.

I resetted the configuration to factory defaults and then the midi editor started working again! Yipii!

i had that problem several versions ago. after recent update, problem gone.
