Default Recording MIDI output of Reagate?

Hi there,
I have been using Reagate to trigger Superior drummer sounds to be mixed with my acoustic drum tracks. Everything is quite decent, but I find I'd like to record the output directly to MIDI instead of audio so I work with the velocities since Reagate provides no velocity variations.
Is there a way to do this that i might be missing?
So far I have tried recording MIDI but the MIDI file created is blank. I have followed the instructions for MIDI recording and get no results at all.
Could I be missing a stupidly obvious part of the procedure or is this not possible?
Thanks all,

You may wish to try something a little more suited to the job, too, like AudioToMidi JS script.

I used this once to turn my laptop mic (and me tapping on the computer chasis) to trigger snare hits. It does track velocity.

I already tried that but it does not work. That's why I am thinking I am missing something obvious.
But thanks,

I am already using a similar method.
Actually this vid;

Does something similar to what I want. Problem is, our "songs" are about 45 mins each, but until I find some other method. I will try this one.

Thanks to both,

But thanks,
can you describe your plugin chain? maybe there is a plugin after ReaGate which is not set to "merges with MIDI bus" (in the plugin MIDI output settings)

Are you using Superior Drummer 3? Because the offline trigger in that is very, very good.

Hi there,

Sorry for replying before but "reality" got in the way big time and thids fell to the sidelines.
Tahnks to all for the replies. I figured a couple different ways, mainly the one from Superior Drummer3. Had it for a couple years now and didn't know about the audio to MIDI option. DOH! That happens for not reading the freaking manual XD
Once again for all the help.
If you are interested, go to our web page where we post all recorded and mixed rehearsals and use this technique. Specially in the last 3 newest "albums"

You all take care,
