Default midi editor self - solo

well as it says, the midi editor
cant decide whether it wants your track solo or not .
sometimes , yes , sometimes no
Personally, I prefer making that decision.
It did not use to be this way.
Also, the playback,
both and all transport controls should work,
be they in the editor or in main
and they arent.
These 2 issues alone are driving me up the wall
last couple of days.
are they new features or an anomaly?

Hi :-)

I think I get what you're saying about the editor / solo issue. :-)

I have "s" mapped to "solo" in the arrange.

and then mapped to "mpl solo midi editor active take" in the midi editor.

But like you sometimes I find it weird whether the editor will solo or not.

With the transport commands, do you mean in terms of assigned keyboard shortcuts?

If so then setting them to "global" in the arrange view might help?????

No .. I mean that the transport controls in the midi editor window dont always work at all. . .
and if you decide to quickly midi edit,
he tracks should play , regardless of anything else,
unless you choose.
thats what the solo button is for and that , really, should be it .
Want solo? . . hit button .

when it does this, it cant handle going back to main, either.
the playback stops spontaneously.

these are problems that have appeared since the latest updates

Oh I see. Sorry didn't clock the part about the latest updates.

Drat that doesn't sound good.

I'll play around with the transport in the editor and see if I duplicate then we can put a report in :-)

If I understand correctly, have you checked 'MIDI editor menu: Options > Sync editor transport to project transport'?

I will check ,
I certainly havent UNchecked it
it always worked till now.
Also, the editor is NOT playing the tempo changes in the tempo envelope
when it does its solo thing un-asked.
I can see the numbers of the slight changes
I have made to the tempo envelope in the editor window above the view
but if I look in main , its not at that tempo,

I'd say it's sticking at whatever the tempo was
when it decided to self-solo.
its a problem , it aint me.

I’ve noticed that some key commands funk up in the midi editor depending on the key used. I have it now mapped to S with pass through and I haven’t had any issues. But it will not work mapping it to something like media keys on the mouse, no idea why.
