Default USING POD GO WITH REAPER

Hi ll
Another question!
I'm using pod go to record guitars in reaper. The pod is acting as the USB interface also.
I'm having a couple of issues which are:
The POD controls the volume so if i have it loud enough to hear the guitar properly it's far too loud in Reaper (can't see a way to separate the guitar volume from volume in Reaper.

Also i'm hearing the guitar from the pod and the guitar in Reaper.

I thought i was getting to know this stuff but there's always something!

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Les

Quick glance at POD manual, turning down hardware monitoring seems to be on page 35. Disabling Reaper's software track monitoring is a button with tiny speaker on it. Now you just have to decide which to disable and Bob's yer uncle

Hi
Thanks for that, i manged to turn the USB output down in the POD but when i record, even though the guitar is loud enough you can hardly hear it recorded.

I think i'm being very silly or i'm missing something here...

Cheers

Default INS AND OUTS

I still cant get hardly any output from the pod go in Reaper.
There's a good signal going in, but on playback there's hardly any signal or sound, it also sounds like it's a million miles away.

The Pod is USB 4 channel, so I've got my ins and outs set to 1-4

I've tried every other alternative but nothing seems to work.

What am i doing wrong?

Thanks

Which pod are you using?

Also, if you are plugging a guitar straight into a line level input, you WILL only get a low, wimpy sounding signal. You need to have something in the chain that will change the impedance of your input (and instrument/line selector?) or a plugin that will boost the input signal enough.

And then there is the monitoring side of using Pods... Are you listening to the outut monitoring of your Pod or the audio outs on your computer? Whichever you are using, try the other one.

Just replied to your other thread & now I found this one!

Are you having trouble with the recording being too quiet on playback, or the wave form looking too small? If its the waveform, just click the + button on the height adjustment arrows.

I've tried line and instrument level and both give the same result ie low levels on playback. It shouldoutput at the same le el as I put?
The one thing I ca t work out is what am I monitoring from? I've tried pressing on the monitoring icon in reaper but that makes no difference.
Either I'm being stupid or there s a problem with the pod go.
Cheers
