Default Solved: REAPER does not receive midi!!!

Hi,
I run REAPER v5.980/64 and I have a problem with setting up a midi controller!

I followed every step exactly as told in the REAPER tutorial but it does´nt work.

I did activate the midi controller as an input device. Did check the use as controller field.
Then I tried to assign a key of the controller to an action parameter, but reaper does´nt read any midi data.
I checked if midi data is received in the computer with a midi monitor. Everything works fine, only REAPER does´nt read the midi data at all.

What can I do?

Thanks for help here…

Did you properly set up your audio device and turn it on? Reaper won't use MIDI without an audio device being selected and active.

Yes I did. everything else worked, also the sound...
The sound device is also the midi interface.

You can try the following:
re-install the MIDI device
reboot your computer
use a different USB port
install Reaper with the portable option and see if it works there (in this case it's a problem with your Reaper config)

What exactly is the audio device?

The device is an AxeFx II.
As far as I can see, the midi signal comes in on all midi channels.

How do I install REAPER with the portable option?

Re-run the installer, click the portable option. It will be a new, separate install and won't change your current one.
