How can I disable monitoring my audio from ninjam?
I play guitar on ninjam every once in awhile. My setup is fairly easy on the Reaper side. I get the direct input from the FX loop of my guitar amp. Looks like this:
Guitar Input > Track 1 > NINJAM FX
Track monitoring should be on for Ninjam to get the guitar audio.
I get to hear the guitar thru Ninjam but I don't want to! I use a guitar amp so I don't want to hear my guitar from Ninjam. What do?
TL;DR: I want the guitar to be fed to Ninjam but not monitored.

When you're playing in NINJAM, the only way to your ears should be through NINJAM. You need to hear your audio mixed with the click, so you know you're playing to the interval and beat. You also need to be hearing everyone else in the room so you know whether what you're playing makes sense in context of the rest of the people in the room.

problem is to send a signal with normal volume I have to turn up my amp a little and it ends up being louder than most other instruments in ninjam. I really need a way to either turn off my audio monitoring or at least adjust my volume post-ninjam-send

The "Local" slider inside ReaNINJAM only affects what you're hearing - not what's sent. If you want to adjust the mix you hear, it's those sliders you should use.
However, as the default in ReaNINJAM is for remote channels to monitor at -12dB, I strongly recommend you have your "Local" monitor level at -12dB, too, so you're equally loud in the mix. Then you can hear your relative actual level and adjust your pre-NINJAM amplification to fit.

Hi pljones,
unfortunately, I am pretty sure that Vendetta V uses the standalone NINJAM application and not ReaNINJAM plugin.

The Cockos standalone works in the same way - there's a built in mixer. (Although the levels default to 0dB rather than -12dB.) You start with the internal faders at the same level, adjust the final output level so you're comfortable, then adjust your input level (not "Local" level) to fit the room.
