I never could find the right explanation of JS plug bufsave when I needed it. You could definitely put something like this in the manual:

Almost committed to Lulu spiral bound and wondering how dedicated users handle the rapid rate of change.

Are new pages inserted, handwritten updates, Opn Ofc printed insertions ..... all of the above ??

Each update of the PDF has a table at the front listing new material. What I do myself then is just print off those pages each time, keep them in a folder and annotate the printed copies with a reference note.

Thanks Tom ... worth also adding that where the changes are very minor rather than print the page I'll sometimes hand write a short note in the margin on the book.

Cool. I have Kenny G's tutorial and thinking that having a large printed User Guide will also make it much easier to add notes matching his tips to my specific needs. Right now, I have a hard time keeping track of his Preference/Setting /Menu changes and being able recall some when necessary.

Just to confirm .... Reaper User Guide is spiral bound, but Reaper 4 Unleashed is paperback bound?

Thanks,
Tom B

REAPER Unleashed is spiral bound. (REAPER Power! is paperback bound, as is his Audio Effects Workshop) REAPER Plus! (SWS) and ReaMix: Breaking the Barriers are spiral bound too...

Thank-you. Just ordered the Reaper User Guide and confident that it will enhance my skills faster and more conveniently than current/random PC access to the pdf guide.

Tom, both are spiral bound. It adds about $1 to production cost but well worth it because you can leave the book open flat, and/or fold over to show only one page or two pages as you wish ...

I think the guide should be searchable from the reaper help menu...
so when you type in here, it can bring up that spot in the user's guide:

Default ReaMix: Breaking the Barriers with REAPER - no download?

Hi, Nickolas,
Why is not possible to buy "ReaMix: Breaking the Barriers with REAPER" as download version? Lulu shop allows to buy paperbook only, why?

Try right-clicking the link and hit "Save target as" (or similar, depending on your browser) in order to save the linked PDF to your disk. Then you can open the PDF directly in your reader, or open it by double-clicking the PDF file. Otherwise try an alternative PDF reader, or reinstall/update Acrobat, maybe it's malfunctioning in some way.

Thanks for hat Ollie. I did try re-installing Acrobat, but that didn't stop the problem. I have just strted to download using save target as and that seems to be working. Thank you for your help.

Kind regards John

Sorry, only just seen your posts, but I'm glad you managed to find it! I don't have any control over how LULU arrange the various web pages ...

Default parameters of every ReaPlugin

Heya

Just posted this thread:
http://forum.cockos.com/showthread.php?t=98389

Didn't see this first.

My question was, that every ReaPlug that comes from Cockos should have every parameter explained in the manuel, as Image-Line does it.
I'd love to have this in the user guide.

Cheers
Andy

Thank you for the suggestion.

In principle I am inclined to agree with you. I would prefer to do this as a separate stand alone (free) plug-in guide, though, rather than add it to the existing User Guide.

That way, it could be maintained and updated independently of the main document. Besides which, the most common single complaint I get about the current User Guide is that it is too long now!

Nicholas,

The User Guide is wonderful, don't listen to them!!

A (separate) guide for the JS 'stuff' would be very cool though.

Realistically, I don't see this happening for a number of reasons.

These are for the most part 3rd party plug-ins, not produced by Cockos, but from a large number of different enthusiastic external sources. Really the prime responsibility for documenting these (if it is to be done) rests with the people who develop them.

That said, most are documented on the WIKI.

Many of them are nonetheless also documented in the User Guide. It just wouldn't be reasonable or practical to expect a separate section for all 250 plus! The amount of time it would take would be endless - time alas has to be prioritized. If someone else would like to take it on, I wish them well, but I suspect that the benefit really would not be enough to justify the effort!

Those that are documented in the User Guide now are generally those where I have received a specific request from someone.

In fact, not long ago I did post to the General Forum asking people to indicate what JS plugs they would like to see added to the User Guide. It got two replies!

If there are any JS plugs that you'd especially like to know more about, probably your best bet is to contact the developer or posting to the forum!

Don't know as I don't have FL Studio, but rest assured I will be producing a guide along the lines requested for the Cockos plug-ins. It's item number 2 on my priority list!

I was using FL Studio many years...
I can say for sure, that every plugin that comes with FL Studio (offcial plugin), is explained as the given example... I've read them all ;o)

That's why I opened the thread, I really wonder how my gear works, what is possible or not and so on.
