Default Pin on timeline?

Hi

This might have been answered before, but try to search for pin in a forum and you get a lot of hits. Or my search fu isn't what it used to be.

Anyway, I have somehow ended up with a pin on my timeline, like so.

And now I wonder, what does it do? And how do I get rid of it?
Clicking on it, with right or left button, just makes it go up and down...

I honestly don't have a clue as to how or when it got there. I was mostly editing a MIDI track during my session today. Other than that I was checking out some VSTs to find an upright bass, which is the only plug-in (Kontakt Player with Factory selection) in the project.

But it did go away after closing Reaper and restarting it, so it doesn't seem to be something that's saved with the project.

I'm totally new at Reaper (and DAWs in general) so I'm currently just fooling around, testing out stuff and hopefully finding some good grooves that I might be able to develop into some songs.

Thank you!
I like it so far, and I especially like the price. 3x the price for FL Studio Producer and even more for workable versions of Ableton etc isn't really in my budget now.

Have to earn money on my music first before buying stuff like that, and that will happen never.
