cockos seem pretty clear about what they are offering & what they expect from you - what do you expect from them?

I just can't believe that NO1 gave you the answer that you wanted after FIVE WHOLE HOURS of waiting!!! Must be a secret society!!! I mean you even "spoke" in TEXTING abbreviations... How can they not take you seriously???

Seriously, dude, Reaper is what, $60? Or, roughly 10% of the cheapest "real" version of ProFools. If you've used it for a month, you know how good this DAW is, so I just don't see the issue popping for a license. I was going to do the same thing, audition it for a month and see if I liked it, and wound up getting the license after a whole 4 days.

The delay is from everyone rolling their eyes and biting their tongues.

This is the support site for a small software developer. Many of the people who use Reaper are also devs. And small studio operators, independent producers, etc. People with strong opinions about intellectual property. They're not really interested in telling you how to use Reaper past the evaluation for free. They see that as taking money out their pockets, which it is.

The answer is that you can continue to use Reaper indefinitely past the evaluation period. The nag screen time just gets longer. But... (all together now...)
THAT'S STEALING!!!

(I suspect that Justin has a soft spot for people who literally can't afford the software, I mean he could easily handle the issue differently so that it did lock after evaluation etc. But an open door's not license to steal.)

Two months is almost always > 60 days, unless starting in January or February.

Ahem! I didn't see any sarcasm....
After 60 days you really are honour-bound to pay the $60, but like everyone else says, if you are either too poor or too plain nasty to give Justin & Schwa their just deserts, you can still carry on using the full program without paying.

Only your conscience or your wallet will dictate which path you take, Grasshopper...

P.S. In any case welcome to the forums!

I'll admit I used it way, way past the 60 day period and I used it on several machines. But I don't record everyday, just in dribs and drabs here and there. I eventually realised how great the software is and paid for a license as I wanted to make sure the development and support for it continued.

If it does what you want it to and you are still using it after the 60 days, why wouldn't you want to own it? Light versions of other DAWs don't even come close.
