Default Using "Cue List Tool" with Reaper

I'll post this here for now, maybe when the pre's become fully released this thread can go in the general or other forum.

Cue List Tool (CLT) is a handy piece of freeware from http://www.stefanbion.de/cueltool/index_e.htm - and with the new markers < > cues functions in Reaper, it may now be of interest here.

CLT manipulates cues in wave files without needing to resave the whole file, which is important if it's a long one, perhaps containing a whole CD. It kind of fires the cues straight into the right places in the wave file, instantly.

Using CLT you can...

Copy the Cues from one WAV file into another WAV file:

Export the Cue List from a WAV file to a separate small file (Cue List file):

Write the Cues from a Cue List file into a WAV file:

Transfer the Cue List as text into another application:

Save the Cue List as text to a plain text or a Rich Text file (the layout is highly configurable):

Create a Cue Sheet for CD burning software to divide big audio files into individual CD tracks (with many options for the info to be included in the Cue Sheet, including countdown stuff, and you can configure CLT to directly call your burning software):

Load the Cues from existing Cue Sheets, e.g. to write them back to a WAV file as a Cue-List:

Modify the Cue data (Begin, End, Length, Label, Description, Type):

Add, duplicate and delete Cues:

Add an time offset to all cues

Generate cues every "n" seconds through the file, with labels

Set up ten apps to be run direct from CLT

Delete the entire Cue List from a WAV file.

The program includes a simple player for locating desired sections of the file, with configurable pre and post roll.

It is essential to read the help file, as (for instance) there is no update or over-write function. Typically you open the wave file - then you press a button to read the cue info - then you modify it - then you delete the original cues - then you insert the revised version. If you don't follow that workflow you'll end up with a double set of cues (because you didn't delete the originals). However, once you've grasped its way of working, it is simple and quick.

CLT used to support wavpack files but does not support recent versions unfortunately.
