Default Control surface - hide hidden tracks?

Is it possible in a control surface to hide a collapsed folder's children as you can in Reaper's mixer or TCP? Or any hidden tracks?

I'm currently using AC-7 Core on an iPad, but am also considering alternatives such as Lemur or Touch OSC.

Does Mackie Control Klinke have any part to play here?

Thanks,
Alan

My specific issue is that if I collapse a folder in Reaper I'll typically have 8 (or fewer) visible tracks. Unfortunately all tracks are still visible in AC-7 forcing me to use bank switching.

Can this be solved with:

Lemur
TouchOSC
Mackie Control Klinke and AC-7
any other combination?

If you are on PC, then yes, it can be solved wih Klinke and AC-7 (maybe the others too, but I use AC-7 w/ Klinke so I'm sure it works.)

With Klinke's plugin, you have to set the options to 'display Mackie set' or something like that (not at my daw right now.) Then you press '<option>+pan' on the surface to bring up a dialog of tracks, where you can choose which tracks to display. This is saved on a per project basis.

Kevin, thanks muchly - it's much easier to find the solution when you know it's there.

It's now working to my satisfaction, if not exactly to my expectation, & given my AC-7 a new lease of life.

Is there still no integrated way of doing this? It hadn't even occurred to me that that track hiding wouldn't either follow the track and mixer. Just started to try and setup OSC and realized and can't do this.

Unfortunately most of what I do with controllers is distill things down to 8 or so faders when running down a mix "performance". Hopefully I'm missing a way to do this with OSC and appreciate anyones help.

I would LOVE this. Can't seem to vote for the FR at the moment, something might be down?

Currently working around this with VCA groups as a way to move faders where I need them. Though it adds a layer of unnecessary complexity and mess to big mix sessions. Just wanted to post that in case someone else finds that workaround useful. Now...not having "Touch" automation work...that's a major problem I can't find a workaround for and makes this problem secondary for me

Hi,

Are you using PC? And can u emulate mcu?
If so kilinkes has a great folder mode. With that any 8 fader box is sufficient.

Thanks LugNut. Yeah, Klinkes seems like a great solution, but I'm currently trying to go the OSC route. Not sure if I'll miss the hardware since I've always been a hands-on-faders guy. I think I'm about to ditch my EuCon hardware so I want to make sure this all works. It's too bad that multitouch isn't there inside reaper itself.
