Default Record Midi overdub From Maschine?

Hi all, first time in here..
So I load Maschine as plugin inside Reaper, but can't figure out how to record Midi overdub from Maschine Jam hardware to midi track in Reaper? (while Jam is still in maschine mode, not in midi mode).
For example, inside maschine, I route midi output of a sound to 'Host' channel 1, then in Maschine host track, I send that midi output to another track.
Now, when I choose Record: output(MIDI), I can record the note from jam, but there's no option for record overdub?? I can overdub when I choose to record midi input, but there's no 'maschine' in input..
Can anyone explain how to route maschine as input in midi track, so I can do overdub? Thanks

Forgive me if I'm wrong, as I do not have Maschine.
If Maschine outputs MIDI (like a MIDI controller), then setting Maschine as your input source and selecting Overdub Recording should record anything coming out of Maschine.

You MUST add Maschine hardware to your MIDI devices in Options>Preferences>MIDI Devices.

There are some threads covering this... give "maschine overdub" a quick search in this forum.

Basically it is a bit clumsy, because there is no Record: Output midi overdub mode.

Recording midi plugin output, and overdubbing that, are mutually exclusive currently unfortunately.

There are workarounds that were discussed somewhere.
