Default How do I split an ENTIRE song to add extra bars?

I've been using Reaper for a while now so have a reasonable understanding of the software. But I'm stuck on something that's probably a bit basic.

Recently I completed a project but have now decided I need to add another 4 bars of music in a certain place right in the middle of the song.

As this song is recorded entirely using MIDI VSTis it should be easy enough to do this ... if only I can figure out how.

I want to basically split EVERYTHING at a specific point, add 4 bars of space, then copy and paste 4 bars of EVERYTHING to fill the gap and extend the song.

Hope this makes sense!

select the part of the song where you want to place the gap - ie bars 65-69 for example, right click and choose "insert empty space into selection". voila!

or you could make a region of the bit you want to copy, and duplicate/copy that region to the relevant point on the timeline
