Default Addictive 2 instruments missing

I only just noticed this.

I have a kit that I modified to my own, and all of the cymbals except the hi hat are silent. The hi hat is part of the "standard" set, the other cymbals are there, but are given no controls in the UI.

I have the kit set up with its 18 audio outs, but if I use the same kit in simple stereo, the same trouble is there.

If I have a blank project in Reaper, and insert AD2, without any multi outs, that same kit will show the same trouble.

I am testing by direct tapping in the interface, not by playing in MIDI Editor.

If I tap a cymbal, it shows the tap in the UI, but there is no MIDI activity and no audio in Reaper.

I cannot work out what I have done. It is kit specific. But I do have other kits that have missing instruments, sometime "core" ones.

Love some help.

I don’t use ad2 so take my advice for what its worth.

Based on my experience with this type of stuff with other drum vsti’s:

A mapping issue with those cymbols?

A midi channel issue? Maybe ad2 is outputing notes on a different midi channel (for those cymbals) than what the midi input on the track is set up to listen for?

What happens when you tap on the virtual keyboard in the midi editor? As you go thru the keys do all drum parts/cymbals sound? Is there midi activity?

Thanks for the reply.

If the cymbals are somehow mapped differently I do not know how. They have no controls within the UI of AD2 except volume and selection of different sounds/cymbals

Same for MIDI channels.

Various cymbals do sound from the MIDI Editor keyboard. But they are all somehow triggering different sounds from the Hi Hat kit piece, which does work. They are not the cymbals brought to life, so to speak.

Each kit piece has a little flashing light that I am pretty sure is MIDI. The silent cymbals have them the same as the functioning instruments.

In the end I think I will delete and rebuild the kit.

Make sure that your cymbals are sending signal to the OH and/or Room channels (see link). And that your OH and Room faders are up in the mixer.
