Default "Error initializing ASIO driver"- ?

What is this? Every time I open Reaper I get this error message.

I have a new M Audio Fast Track Pro usb'd to my PC. I'm simultaneously watching the Kenny Gioia Reaper Tutorial I downloaded.

Pick your correct updated drivers and get them from here and install them

http://www.m-audio.com/index.php?do=...erie_ID=6#tabs

Make sure you get the correct ones for your Operating system.

Is Windows and/or mediaplayer 'stealing' the interface to output sound?

I also get this error message

I'm using Behringer F-Control (firewire) on Vista. I downloaded the right driver too Does anyone else know about this one?

It literally means your audio device crashed. No big deal, really. Just reboot your PC, ensure you are using the right driver and ASIO settings, and it should work.

I've tried that multiple times though, I've even uninstalled and reinstalled the driver a few times, but still the same. There was one time, for a few seconds when Reaper recognized it, and then when I opened the new project, that message popped out again and it stopped working again

Default EventViewer#

Try this.
Depending on your O/S.Open the control panel and then go to the Administrative Tools/vent viewer and make a short cut from it to your desktop(Makes things easier).
Now highlight each event and clear it's log, don't save them when prompted as they will be old and useless.

Now recreate the problem and go back to the events and copy and past info that you may think can help track it down into Google.

This is what the log says

So it's a security problem O__O
I'm still yet to find the solution through google though :S

If Windows Firewall is enabled try disabling it?

I use a free one called Ashampoo,

Small and unobtrusive.

Ok, so I've disabled Windows Firewall. Because ashampoo doesn't work on Vista, I installed Comodo.

But it still doesn't work D<

When I check out my event viewer, it seems like the error isn't logged every time I try to use FCA202, so maybe it's not a security problem after all.

And then I randomly tried to change the latency from 5 to 7.9

And for 30 seconds, I thought it was going to work. The green bars beside the track responded to my guitar.

But then the stupid Error message appeared again and it was out! D<

Ok, so I'm going to try installing Live Lite 4, which is a DAW program that comes with it. If it works, then the hardware is just incompatible with Reaper. If it doesn't, well god knows what this is about D<

*grraahhh me angry!!!*

I've installed Live Lite 4 but it gives me the message

"Failed to open the audio device "Behringer FCA202 ASIO".

hmm

I'm pissed off, but I'm still going to try installing the updated Live Lite 8 first and see if that one works.

^ thank you I'll try this

Yeah, and then I upgraded to Ableton Live Lite 8, and it still failed. So hopefully that driver sweeper will work.

I have a question. When you use that sweeper (for Proteus VX), does "Proteus VX" automatically appear in your list of drivers (with checkboxes)? Because my ASIO does not.

No.Driver sweeper I think is for sound card and video card drivers only.I used it to clean them all out and re-install them so back up your system/settings before use.
