Default Fairchild?

I am finally learning some coding and have two somewhat useful plugs. Justin did 99.9999999999999999999999% of it but hey, I named one of the faders heh.

Anyhow

grab these:

http://stashbox.org/uploads/1152493262/KanakaMS5

https://stash.reaper.fm/oldsb/1152493...nakaMSEncoder1

Put the encoder in front of reacomp and the decoder after reacomp

Set reacomp in feedback mode with 50msec or so RMS time and a 9dB Knee

Set reacomp's detector input to left channel (which will be actually after the encoder the "M" channel) only.

Bypass the decoder, kanaka ms5, and choose preview filter in reacomp to hear what you are working with.

Set the detector filter hp somewhere above 50 or perhaps much higher and with some futzing you will notice Fairchild type behaviour, but without the bass loss problem in the UAD-1 Fairchild emulation.

Good stuff!

Right click and save the link, I suspect.

This sounds like an ms encode - compress - ms decode thing to me - right? A bit like Endorphin (http://www.cockos.com/forum/showpost...&postcount=121 has a practical application).

Got it, I think... Save as all files, no extension. I put KanakaMSEncoder1 into C:\Program Files\REAPER\Effects\Misc...Reaper sees it.

ok i have got some intresting results set up like this

KanakalMSEncoder1>>reacomp>>KanakaMS5 (all active)

Detector input: set to Main Input L

100% wet & 50% dry on the Output mix (verry impressed with the lack of phaze when setting it like this in reacomp)

set the other comp settings to your likeing

Yeah, in fact, if you set track channels to 4, there is no need to use the MSdecoder

set track chain like this:

Trackchannels 4

Chain: Reagate (input 1 and 2, output left:1 and 3, output right 2 and 4, wetmix -120, drymix 0, just using reagate as a y cord) then kanaka MS5, then reafir (input 1 and 2 output 1 and 2, use reafir for filtering the detector) then reacomp (main input 3 and 4, aux input 1 and 2, output 1 and 2)

set reacomp detector to listen to aux left for M or aux right for S

Use reafir to filter the detector signal to really dial in to the sounds you are wanting to use as control

No need to decode from MS as MS is only in the detector this way
