Default Make Reaper Add Envelope points like Sony DAW

Hello,

I am a long-time (and frustrated) Sony DAW user who has recently migrated to Reaper and am learning the ropes of it. One thing I am coming across that I would like to have is to mimic how Sony handles adding envelope points.

In Vegas or Acid, I can hover the mouse over an envelope. This envelope then becomes "selected" for editing as long as I keep hovering over the envelope. I can then double click to add envelope points, click/drag to move segments between points, double click a point to set it to 0 db. I find this to be very quick and intuitive but I can't seem to find settings in Reaper to make it act like this.

Is it possible and, if so, how do I do it?

Thanks!

Hi and welcome,

Go to Options, Prefs, Mouse Modifiers.

You can customize/modify all sorts of mouse behavior, in this case select Envelope Segment and double-click

Then double click on any item in behavior list and select an action (eg add point), or choose Action list and select one for yourself.

You can also assign actions for Envelope Points, left drag and/or double click.

Fabtabulous. I knew it had to be in the vast prefs somewhere. Exactly what I was looking for.

Thank you. Will make my envelope editing much easier
