Default "Gooey" Track volume fader

The track volume faders are finicky to control IMO, they move too much relative to the mouse positioning.

Yes, I know you could probably do it with the keyboard, but I don't want to.

What I'd like would be a feature that invoked a ratio of mouse movement to fader, so that after you clicked on the fader you would have to move the mouse more to get the fader to move a little bit, relatively. Kind of like how Cubase works when set in the "knob" mode, but more of a horizontal element than a circular-horizontal element.

HI,

I like using the mousewheel to make fine or coarse adjustment of faders (in Samplitude) click a fader to activate, then turn the mousewheel (+shift for fine control) to adjust the level.

I hate dragging faders- I suppose I'm just a bit lazy...

Regards,

Terry

Works just like that in Reaper, Terry, except it's ctrl instead of shift.

Another factor in fader control is how you've got them set up in preferences - very handy facility, that, and well worth fiddling with.

Thanks for that Art.

I have not yet installed Reaper, but I am going to do so later tonight or tomorrow.
After lurking here a bit, I am impressed with what I've read - I'm sure Reaper is going to become a very nifty audio app.

Regards,

Terry

Ah, that one.

I should explain that I know (on the internet) a radio industry guy from Texas named Terry and just wondered whether he'd come on board (which would have been interesting), but Yorkshire Terry is of course equally welcome!!

Thanks for the hospitality Art!

Well, I'm from Sheffield, Yorkshire - yes, in England.
I'm living in southern France these days though, (I married a french girl) hmm...
Music, mainly guitar. For software, I've been using Samplitude for quite a long time, but I want to try Reaper and maybe if I can help in any way, I would be happy to do so.

Regards,

Terry

Cheers! We're a pretty international group - eg I'm in Australia but was a Londoner till about 6 years back when I married an Australian lass.
