Default Open-Back Headphones < $500 for Mixing?

After reading a bunch of reviews and discussions online, I still can't decide between Sennheiser HD 600 and HD 650. I'm open to other suggestions if you know of something far better in the price range (under $500) but I don't have the means to audition them in person.

I'm making all kinds of music, but mostly electronic. My priorities are comfort (no sticky leather pads) and accurate frequency response (with strong, unexaggerated bass) as I will be doing long mixing sessions with these.

I've been moving around too much to set up a proper monitoring environment, so I've decided to invest in some reliable cans for now. Thanks for any help.

Personally I use AKG K702, bough them back in the day for ~ 350 €,
very comfortable, great quality, very linear f. response (not the usual low end boost
as people may be used to with headphones, I made a monitoring EQ preset
with bass boost for when I need to focus on low end.

I would definitely recommend them, but with headphones it's always best to
try them urself as it's a very subjective preference (how they feel for long
periods, how tightly they match ur head, the sound of course, etc.)

Good luck!

Btw, you posted in spam trap forum

Not sure how I did that? I did see the k702's mentioned a lot but I overlooked them, assuming the earpieces were shiny leather material like my k240's, which get sticky and sweaty... I'll check em out, thanks.

I recently got a pair of AUdio Technica M50x and they're great for mixing!

Simple answer: Beyerdynamic T90 ... unbeatable below 500 bucks. I never heard such a great resolution.

I went with HD 600 a couple months ago. Didn't need to get an amp. Pretty satisfied.

Bought the 650s and am STILL very tempted to get a pair of 600s as well.
Subtle but definite differences.

My other cans are AKG K141 monitor and AKG K240DFs from the early eighties and are STILL blood good, but not quite in the Senny league.

Never tried any Beyer cans that were comfortable, but I do like their mics.
