Default Stopping playback, returns to beginning of playback position?

I may have gone too long without sleep here, but is this normal behavior for the playhead position to return to the beginning of playback, when stopped?

I don't remember it working this way... I use Reaper to place audio for video, and the only thing I've done different than usual, is choose the 64bit version instead of the 32bit version (and I'm using the most recent Reaper update).

Is there a setting change possible to correct it, so the playhead stays in the position where/when playback is stopped?

I still don't remember the native behavior, but I've mapped the letter "B" on the keyboard to pause my position.

Anyone have a better suggestion for a pause shortcut? I only picked "B" because it wasn't currently assigned and it was close to the space bar.

Use the Enter key to stop playback in position. Can be changed in preferences though.

Or you can built a macro

Move edit cursor to play cursor
Transport play/stop

Now add the spacebar shortcut to your brand new macro and you get the behavior you want...

Thank you Reno.thestraws.

For now my "B" key mapped to pause works nicely. I was going to overwrite it, but being able to playback from the initial playback position is also important. It might make more sense for me to switch these later on, but for no I'll keep it this way until I find out I can get used to this.
