Default Newbie Question About Multiple Monitors and Graphics Cards

I currently have two monitors on my PC, and would like to add a third.

The MB only has two monitor outputs, so I need to get a graphics card in order to add more monitors. (Or get a new MB, which I don't want to do right now.)

My newbie question is whether I can use the monitor outputs from the MB and the graphics card at the same time, or whether I have to use one or the other. (I have no idea ...)

For example, if I get a graphics card with two monitor outputs, does that mean I can have up to four monitors displaying separate screens at the same time? (two from the MB, and two from the graphics card)

I use 3 monitors. There is a single video out on the mobo video, plus an added dual-head card. So, yeah, you can use them all.

I recommend 1920x1080 resolution. If you get much higher than that and the fonts get tiny and hard to read.

Last I heard, if you get an Nvidea card it was recommended to NOT install the Nvidea app (though the driver is ok). I'm sure someone will chime in and correct me if that is no longer true.

Depends on your MB. I'd research the specific model first.

Some video cards have three outs, too.

Yeah, that Nvidia Experience app sucks, have to create an account, kind of a pain. But you do have to install their drivers.

If your MB has a slot for a graphics card then yes, you can hang as many monitors on that card as it has plugs.

Any chance you've got an HDMI port on that motherboard?
