about impulse generation

While using the impulse generation utility in reaverb, I noticed the default length of test filegenerated is 4 sec by default does anyone know if there are any advantages or disadvantages to using either shorter or longer test files, does it make any difference at all as far as quality of impulse created?

You might like to download the Voxengo Deconvolver demo.

It allows you to make three IR's at a time, then you have to restart it.

It comes with a help document which helps explain how to make IR's which I found helpful.

Things like EQ Ir's aren't coming out well for me, but longer reverbs always come out pretty much perfect, as far as I can tell.

I just wish I could learn how to make IR's of other gear/plugins.
