Adding picture to project
Hi!
I just started to explore editing videos in Reaper and came across some strange things. When adding a jpeg to a track with video on it, and trying to make a cross-fade between the two I cant get it to look nice. There is a blackout in the middle of cross-fade. I am using Item fades to make the transition and when using only video on the track the cross-fades work excellent. What am I doing wrong when mixing videos and jpegs?

First thing: go under project settings -> video tab. Make sure you set video project dimensions to avoid weird behaviors. Also set the "Video item visibilty" to your preference: this is where you decide how "top/bottom" are decided in your project. Here is an example with a JPG background fading in/out a mp4 video: and the result: |

How did you make the picture appear on the item? Is it something you photoshoped?

A static image like a JPEG should appear on the item automatically (unlike videos) unless there is a hidden preference setting somewhere controlling that... |
