sorry bear,
the whole mmc protocol thing is more than a little beyond my level of understanding.
after checking your above link i realize that i did not fully understand the terminology. (long day)
i see that i should look a little more deeply in to my system's particular control messages. (i'm guessing, they probably are not that unique)

Hey dude - no offense taken, just trying to get things working (admittedly selfishly to some extent working with my hardware)

If you have MIDIOX you can see all the messages sent by your hardware. It would be real interesting to know what messages are sent by your DSP machine when jogwheel and various buttons are pressed. I am almost sure some form of GOTO messages are being sent.

It would be interesting to know these messages from other hardware out there also... particularly hardware that has jogwheels.... anyone???

Can you use MMC to arm tracks yet? If this were implemented it might be useful to be able to offset Reaper track numbers so that Reaper could be used alongside other recorders. In my case I could have MMC tracks 1-16 as hardware ADAT tracks with tracks 17 onwards as Reaper tracks.

Cheers

James.

@ bear,
fresh coffee, fresh download of midiox...
on my DPS when i move the jog wheel clockwise from stop i get,
SYSX: F0 7F 01 06 45 03 00 00 00 F7
followed by a whole lot of "MTC Quarter Frame"

when i let go the DPS stays in "play mode" until i press stop.

counter-clockwise gets me,
SYSX: F0 7F 01 06 45 03 00 00 00 F7
followed by a whole lot of,
SYSX: F0 7F 7F 01 01 60 03 30 00 F7

i could post midiox screen-cap's if you would like to see all of the other messages.

This would be super cool.
