I prefer the first one. the second one is nice too though. like i said, me, i think it's more logical to put track names up near the top too.
i think the contrast and metallic look of fader section from fx strip area is nice, but for tcp, maybe something like the fader section of iomega would be better in order to make a nice contrast with the arrange area, which i prefer as a more pale color.

Nice
I REALLY like the IO-MEGA Albert! Looks very soothing,
One efx sends idea I would like to throw at you would be to have the whole little rectangle on each efx slot be scroll wheel active, so you don't have to worry about hitting some really tiny knob to adjust it. Or if that's not possible perhaps just a large knob?
It would be nice to have a slider display on it like on the stock Reaper theme too.. for ease of reading at a glance.
Very nice looking theme so far!

Many thanks for these mockups. As always, your work is looking sensational, Albert. I especially like Solaris Pro. The knobs!!
Until tonight I didn't realise that mixers can make great "magic eye" images (when you let your eyes lose focus). It really adds to the tasteful 3d experience.
Really looking forward to seeing these in action,
ij

Good decision. Solaris is a lot more in your style. I have to say I am not convinced with the fader area. It is too shiny for me. The rest is very well done.

personally, i don't think i would ever use a theme that uses a knob for volume in tcp. i also really dislike vertical meters as mentionned, but, my current theme is that way, which is the only thing i don't like about it.
i'm not sure why everybody likes vertical meters so much. every track has to take up so much space in order to get a decently accurate reading on the meters.

Albertx, is there any way to get Solaris done with vertical small faders in the tcp?
I love faders way over knobs, but in making automation changes (touch mode), it is so much easier to move up and down with the mouse rather than left and right.
Of course I could also hook up a midi fader bank, but just wondering, sometimes not so easy to hook up midi things (eg laptop on airplane, etc.)
Thanks, I like the look of this thing!

Nice clean matrix. Real easy on the eyes so far.
Good idea (to me) keeping the tracknumbers at the bottom, away from everything else.
Automation mode "Read" is obscured. That's a corner-of-the-eye thing like track-arming.

Awesome mockup. i only have one piece of input.
although the mcp meters are very nice, and look very cool, and it is more like mixing boards, to have the meters higher up, i do find it less useable.
it requires a bigger monitor, and the longer your meters are, basically, the better your resolution for them is. so, the longer they are, the more accurate they are.
this is why i like horizontal meters in tcp so much, because you can have a track, thin enough so that you can fit a lot of tracks in your screen, and still have very useable meters. if you have vertical meters, they are basically useless, except for telling if clipping occured, unless you have your track height super huge.
i like the clean look of teh faders, but i think that space would be better served by having meters down there next to the faders.
i know it's more normal, less different and kind of original i guess, but it's far more practical.
for me, i don't care how beautiful a theme is, it can't be my theme unless it is practical.
my DAW isn't some pretty toy i wanna look at. it's a tool i wanna make music with.
but the more beautiful it is, the more i will like it. the bottom like though, is practical. if it isn't practical, then it's a kids toy, not a tool for making music.
not saying this mockup looks like a kids toy. it actually looks quite awesome, i just think it would be more practical and therefore much better if the meters were down by the faders.

It looks great ! Much "clearer" than your other themes, with less (imho) unnecessary details. I like the mcp meters this way, à la meter bridge. If you keep it simple, clear and clean, uncluttered... I'll use it.

I really like this theme, but on the Mixer view it would be easier on the Eyes if you put the letters "M" and "S" on the Solo and Mute buttons, just like the channels on the left.
That simple consistency I think would make things more fluid and fast... no second guessing.
I would install this in a heart beat!

Man, this thing is gourgeous.
If you release this it'll be my new default for sure.
Probably to my liking the best theme I've seen for Reaper.
That begs the question... when?????

Yeah it's very nice as it is now. Just lacks a mark for the 0dB on MCP faders et voilà.
One request/suggestion though : could you consider a very large master buss MCP meter ? I'm so used to Imperial's largest one. Would be fantastic as well if it could be compatible with K-Metering the same way Imperial does.
Anyway, really looking forward this theme !

Wow
Your best work yet really nice.
Would you consider doing a mcp layout with a knob instead of a slider so as to reduce the hight of the mixer.
Regards
