Default VST Effects not available

Good morning,

Yesterday, as I do from time to time, I formatted my hard drive and reinstalled my OS (Windows XP Pro) and Reaper. Everything seems to be working fine except that there are certain VST's that are not working. When I open a project with one of these VST's I get this message:

"The following effects were in the project file and are not available. REAPER will keep their configurations, but things may not sound as desired.

Track 8: VST: M30 Reverb (TC Electronic A/S)
Track 9: VST: M30 Reverb (TC Electronic A/S)
Track 12: VST: M30 Reverb (TC Electronic A/S)
Track 22: VST: M30 Reverb (TC Electronic A/S)"

The effect shows up on the track but it is "greyed" out. I like that reverb and would like to continue to use it, but I thought I'd just try inserting a different one onto the track - MVerb. That reverb also is not working and showing up grey in the track list. I checked the plugins/FX folder to make sure the .dll's were there and they are.

Any help with this would be very, very much appreciated.

Thanks.

Try Options/Preferences/Plug-ins/VST and do a "re-scan" or "clear cache/re-scan". If that doesn't work, you may have to re-install the M30.

Hi Billy,

Thanks for this. I have reformatted this computer twice now and I'm still having the problem - some VST's are just not showing up. Just as a test I installed Reaper on my computer at work and tried installing the .dll's there - no problem.

If ANYONE can give me ANY information that can help me solve this problem I'd be forever in your debt.

Thanks in advance!

Greg
