Default Help with media mess!

All of my media files are saved in the same folder and its a mess. I have my project files saved in different folders. I would like my media files to be saved with my project file without having to change the location via "project setting" at the start of each project. Does that make sense?

I'm sure there is something I'm overlooking....

Not sure I understand the question. If you mean you want your recordings to go in a sub folder within the project folder automatically, just write the name of the folder in the project settings under the heading "path to save media files"(not the whole path, just the name, for example: "Media"), and then click on "save as default".

Does that answer your question?

It makes sense, but I don't think it can be done without changing the project settings.

You'll need to
-- define a folder in the Project Settings window for each project. I use "media" (without the quotes and no \)
-- also, save that as your default Project Settings.
-- then "Save As" the project, give it a slightly different name and enable "move All media into project directory"
-- close the project and Reaper and re-open the project.

Try it for one project first. If all is OK do it for you other projects.

---------------
Plan (b)
-- in Explorer drag the audio files to where you wan them
-- open a project, it will report that a file is missing (i.e. not where the project file says they are
-- browse to where the audio files are
-- select the appropriate file
-- repeat if needed for other audio files
-- "Save As" the project, give it a slightly different name
-- close the project and Reaper and re-open the project.

Try it for one project first. If all is OK do it for you other projects.

When you save a project, the Save project window has a little tick box at the bottom left which gives the option to 'Move all media into project directory'.

edit: I see I've been beaten to it
