Actually, I've got to agree with Deric on the inactive fx issue. It's really kinda odd to have the bypassed fx in such a vivid blue. It looks active rather than inactive. I think a grayed out look would be much easier to understand. But, it's your theme and still an awesome one at that! Thanks again.

Hi Labyrinth,

You're gonna hate me, but I still find the bypassed fx look to be odd and really...kind of straining on the eyes. Especially the blue on the bypassed fx button. Perhaps I am alone on this, but to me it is both very hard to read the "fx" on the bypassed button and I find that particular blue isn't very easy on the eyes. The "on" state of the fx buttons looks great. It looks like it's lit up and turned "on". I think the bypassed button should basically look the same except with the light turned off. It's hard to explain. Anyway, I'll let it go now Thanks for all the work.

I think a light gray (lighter than the gray on the unused fx buttons) with "almost" black writing would work great for the bypassed fx. Just an idea

What if I went somewhat in that direction and had the bypassed be basically a darker version of the on state? This would also give it that paused or lights out approach with out being totally off like the empty or offline mode.

And BTW, I love this forum because everyone is very honest and free to speak their mind.

That could certainly work I think. With my gray idea or with your compromise idea , the bypassed fx would still look different than the unused buttons because the text would be dark instead of light.

and you are certainly correct....this forum is the best. Good people here.

Thanks again,

I love this theme. Vixie Plain 2 and Elevator light are both great. But EOTE is quickly becoming my standard.

Thanks.

It's not flashy, but efficient and somewhat elegant.

Another vote for Easy On The Eyes. It's now my standard theme as well.

Nice work, Labyrinth!

Things like that are like you said 'personal' preferences. I more looking for graphic ideas or comments, if any are to be had. Thanks Shredder, and I'm glad the theme works for you.

Excellent. EOTE is the only theme in my "Themes" folder.

Of course I lied. But it is the only one I use.

Hi labrynth,

I really like this theme and have been using it for a while now. Great work on your part!

My only comment would be that the toolbar icons seem a little inconsistent with the rest of the skin in that they are a little "fuzzy" while the rest of the graphics are very crisp. It's not a big deal and I can substitute your earlier toolbar icons in, just wanted to give you some feedback.

Thanks for a great contribution to the Reaper community.

Hey Labby

With EOTE 2 I notice that if I start a new project (ie no tracks in it yet) and the cursor moves over the area where the waveforms will be, the cursor disappears.

I have fixed this by slightly lightening the grey color of this area.

Other than this I freaking LOVE this theme!

Cheers
Jed

I can not duplicate this...the cursor in EOTE 2.03 is black, so it should be okay.

I don't think it's blurry, but REAPER is very limited in it's graphics because of it's file size allowance. There are many alternates in the Alternative Graphics folder within the theme, so go with what you prefer. In reality the theme is my preference, but with all of your suggestions. Oh, also...these icons were created by DerMetzgermeister (used in the CO27 theme....thanks man).

Default Alternate Size Fader for EOTE 2.03

Here is a 2 pixel wider fader in case the new fader is too narrow for your display.

"I'm not totally sure the red line is best ..."

It does seem more pronounced than would be my preference. Perhaps make it just a bit more narrow? The caveat here is that I've only looked at the screenshot and haven't loaded up the 'redline' update to give it a spin in the real world.

Everyone...let me know about the red line and what you think AFTER use please. I was going for a color that fit well.

Alright, gave it a spin. While the red line doesn't pull on my eye as much as I thought it might, still think I might prefer a fine line like you have on TCP_volthumb.

I tried it on my studio setup and found the red doesn't work for me, so I will be going with a very subtle blue. Will release some new faders tomorrow.

Thge reds are in for me.. i like it as it is... very much indeed..

But one thing i stumbled over was, that the transporter (play-Stop-Record) buutons seem to bee a little off hook, why not make them alitte more in style with the rest, and skip the real (typical)look ?? just an idea..

But hey BIIIG THUMBS UP!! very niiicce

Honestly I have been drawing a huge blank on what the transport should be for a while, but I will give it more thought.

Why not make it simple and use the gradient in the bar ? just with a darker or lighter tone ? and plane white markings, like you use elsewhere in the theme.

New faders, rock. Go the red.

I didn't like the original panners, but the newer small ones and with the new faders are great.

Now you need the new volume faders in the small left tracks mixer.
