Default The following effects were not...

In a current project I get this message:

"The following effects were in the project file and are not available. REAPER will keep their configurations, but things may not sound as desired.
VST: GUITAR AmpliTube (IK Multimedia Production)"

Having purged/uninstalled a good few vst/vsti from my folders I was not surprised to get one of these messages because the exercise was also to swap in/out some fx. However, I cannot see anything lurking in the project folder, in the vst/vsti folder or pathway, and also nothing at all in the project itself that relates to the Amplitube.

Seeing it is no big deal really, just a tad annoying.
What else can I do to find the source of this?

Amplitube must be present in the .rpp file for that message to appear. Open the file in a text editor, and search for the text Amplitube there. If you are confident to do so, then you can remove the effect configuration section text from the .rpp file. (Probably best to work on a copy of the .rpp file...)

edit : It also occurred to me that maybe you have Amplitube in the input fx of the project...

Try plain old notepad.exe if the rpp file is not huge.

dont use wordpad for such kind of operations. it fucks up nearly everything.

Default Missing plugins errors:

I had the same problem a couple days ago. I checked and cleaned my pc, and now it's loading ok, except for a couple ones that I got that error: project not recognized mcu_klinke. I clicked ok on the error message and it loaded ok. I don't why I got that message; I re-installed the mcu_klinke extension properly.
