Default German Post-Hardcore: Leuchtturm am Ende der Welt. 2 Tracks.

Hello,

we are currently recording our first demo and I desperatly looking for some constructive criticism.

First off I have to mention that there is a lot of screaming in our music, so don't bother liseining if you are absolutely not into shouts.

I use mostly the standard reaper plugins, etc. , except for the synths I'm using FL Studio as a VST plugin, which works fine most of the time.

When I'm mixing I'm feeling like I can make the track sound different but not better... Maybe some know what I mean. I haven't had a single big aha experience in almost a year. Dunno what I could do to significally improve my recordings. So any help is appreciated.

Greetings
Oli

hey,

mix sounds ok to me. maybe just a tad too much highs but otherwise genre-like this could be just right. nice compositions, even if it's not my cup of tea.

cheers aus frankfurt

ps: are you on reverbnation? there's a big reaper community helping themselves with fanning each other ...

Thx for the advice. Always looking for pages where people can find us.

Well you're absolutly right about the high frequencies. This is something I do to make the track sound more "hifi" on bad sound systems. Same with over the top compression... Casual listeners gave me quite much positive feedback for such stuff. Dunno if I should keep doing it this way or not.
