Shortcuts issue
This may be silly question, but sometimes I find an annoyance I haven´t been able to solve regarding keyboard shortcuts. When I use many custom shortcuts involving the use of Alt, Ctrl, etc., suddenly such keys as +, {, -, etc, change their assignments in a way that overrides many of my shortcuts. It must surely be a Windows-related issue, maybe due to Alt codes or something like that, but every time this happens, I have to restart Reaper to be able to use my usual shortcuts again.
Any tips?

Not sure exactly what your issue is bur I do see some things like this once in a while.
'Go to start of time selection' is the assignment I picked for that key.

Soli you are doing a save when you make changes to the actions, yes?
I have not seen them change on their own... on the other hand, I often do forget some key assignments I made last year... hahaha

Hi guys, and thanks for the replies!
Hopi, I always save the custom actions, indeed, but this is something that alters not only the custom ones but seems to change the key assignments of my keyboard (!). That´s why I think it´s Windows-related.
Fna, that´s weird indeed! I´ve never seen it but I´ll pay attention. This is also bizarre, but with a different kind of weirdness...

There happened the same to me with W7 Reaper 4.611. Out of the sudden my keyboard layout inside Reaper seems to have been switched from German to English. So i.e. Ctrl+Z now is Ctrl+Y. Only a restart of Reaper helps. But some time adjustment steps later the issue occurs again!
Had anyone else have these problems and knows a solution?

Had the same issues. I discovered that it always happened when i switched between different themes. (Also a setting in the prefs seems to be affected: Clear time selection when edit cursor moves on click in arrange view. Very strange.) Now that i'm using only one theme, everything is working fine since a long time.

Hey Witti, thanks for your tip. I will check that. Actually recently I didn't use different themes but updates of only one theme (Janne). So maybe this affected the behaviour. It is indeed really strange that this happens.

I've finally found the answer to this problem... In my case, it was effectively related to the change of keyboard language assigned to the ALT + SHIFT combination in Windows 7. I had two languages installed and sometimes the keyboard layout would be altered, just as timothy said. I disabled the function in Control Panel / Clock, Language and Regions / Change keyboard or other input methods / Keyboars and Languages / Change keyboards / Advanced Key Settings / Hot keys for input languages / Change key sequence.
I left only one language installed for the keyboard, anyway.

Is there a way to make Reaper ignore what language is currently on and just proceed as if it was english? I often have to switch to russian, and everytime i'm back to Reaper and try some hotkeys i get this "bweh" sound
